Elisabeth Villeminot has always been attracted to the world of taste.
Born in France to American mother and French father, Elisabeth spent a few years living in the sates as a child but she has lived in Europe for over 30 years.
After obtaining a bachelors degree in Philosophy from the University of Durham,England with a focus on the Aesthetics of Taste, Elisabeth trained as a chef in multi-starred restaurants in Paris and Rome.
In Rome, being inspired by Chef Heinz Beckof La Pergola restaurant in Rome, and his sommelier Marco Reitano, she obtained her sommelier degree from the Associazione Italiana di Sommelierin 2003.
In 2004 she stared working in Paris with Peter Vezan, renowned wine broker, and learned the intricacies of the French wine world. As her mentor, he guided her to become the skillful taster and equanimous wine broker that she is today.
She started the company Sublime Terroir in 2014.
She is also the author of the book Grapes Unfined and Unfiltered – a series of interviews with grape varietiesas well as various articles about food and wine that have appeared in publications around the world.
